  • Bombers don't seem in much of a rush
REMEMBER Nic Grigsby? C'mon, sure you do -- he plays for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, wears No. 32 and is the starting tailback. Still nothing? Okay, how about this for a memory jog -- he had 122 yards rushing in a Week 1 win over Toronto and three rushing TD's in a Week 2 win over
  • No Moore Mr. Nice Guy
Winnipeg Blue Bombers slotback Nick Moore is going home this week -- sort of. Moore spent the last three seasons with the B.C. Lions -- and led all Lions receivers in receiving yards last year -- before signing with Winnipeg as a free agent during the off-season. All of which makes this week's

  • When it comes to Bombers' defence... Moe...
LISTEN to Moe Leggett for any length of time and there is a been-there, done-that feel to every word that comes out of his mouth. Maybe that's part of his time in the NFL, including the 2008 season when he was the Kansas City Chiefs rookie of the year. And so while the 28-year-old safety might
  • At the door to a dream
Henoc Muamba knew the attention would be as intense as the heat of a thousand suns. And he certainly knew going in that chasing a spot with the Indianapolis Colts would give him a taste of the year-round, dawn-to-dusk life that is the National Football League. But if there was an eye-opening
  • Bombers move on from loss
If there are any emotional scars from their first loss of the 2014 CFL season, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are hiding them well. The club completed a spirited workout at the Bison practice facility west of Investors Group Field Tuesday — work is already being done to set up the stage for
  • Vega joins list of Blue and Gold's walking wounded
THE busiest man with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers these days might just be athletic therapist Alain Couture. Yes, the list of walking wounded with the Bombers continues to grow in the wake of last Thursday's 26-3 loss to the Edmonton Eskimos. Head coach Mike O'Shea said after practice Monday the
  • Taking one step at a time
Lirim Hajrullahu won't tip toe around the topic. He'd like to one day handle all of the kicking chores for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers -- the placekicking, kickoffs AND punting. Funny thing about all that: Mike Renaud -- the Bomber punter before he pulled a hamstring in the pre-game warm-up last
  • Moore than a feeling
It's hardly a unique topic of discussion, especially anywhere football coaches and players -- and the fans and media who follow them -- gather to dissect the game. In fact, type the words 'quarterback receiver chemistry' into Google's search engine and 1,910,000 results pop up
The Bomber Beat. It's one-stop shopping for all things Blue and Gold.
  • Eskimos 26, Bombers 3
A few thoughts after Edmonton hammered Winnipeg in the battle of the unbeatens: • I re-watched every Winnipeg offensive play when I got home, and the offensive line didn’t play as bad as it originally appeared. Here are a few notes: - On a lot of the plays quarterback Drew Willy clearly didn’t have anywhere […]

Negotiating Committee would be prepared to recommend an agreement on terms more favourable than our last position. The terms […]
  • Bombers overnight report, June 3
Two days are in the books at Bomber camp, so it’s time to start cutting players. Just kidding. Sort of. Four practices are not enough for the players to prove to the coaches that they can play in the league, but you can bet the coaches can already envision what the roster will look like […]

  • CFLPA letter to fans
Here is what the CFLPA released to the media a few minutes ago … CFLPA Letter to the Fans I want to start by saying how disappointed I am in the CFL’s decision to walk away from these very crucial negotiations. The unfortunate ones caught in the middle are you, the fans. We, the players, […]
  • Bombers mini-camp, Day 2
BRADENTON, Fla. — The second day of Bombers mini-camp is in the books, and some players are starting to stake their claim on training camp spots. Many of the players the Bombers have already signed are looking good. Quarterback Robert Marve is getting the most attention due to his strong and accurate arm, but non-contact […]
  • Bombers mini-camp, Day 1
BRADENTON, Fla. — The Bombers kicked off a new era on a couple of fronts Sunday with the first two practices of their three-day mini-camp. It was the first official workout for new starting quarterback Drew Willy, and it was also the first session for new head coach Mike O’Shea. Neither offered up much in […]
  • Jets 2, Coyotes 1 (SO)
PHOENIX — It’s amazing how one shootout goal can change the feeling of an entire road trip. The only reason the Jets were giddy in the dressing room after tonight’s 2-1 shootout win over Phoenix was because Andrew Ladd’s shootout attempt bounced off the post, off Thomas Greiss and into the net. If that wasn’t […]
  • Korey Banks’ toughest moment
THIS STORY ORIGINALLY RAN IN THE WINNIPEG SUN ON OCT. 10, 2011 … Korey Banks is having a superb season on the football field. The B.C. Lions linebacker has produced career highs with six sacks and three forced fumbles, and there are still five games to go. The seven-year CFL veteran has only two interceptions, […]
  • The (latest) new Bomber boss
The Bombers continued their early December tradition today by naming a new head coach. The usual optimism surrounded the event, although this time it seemed a little different. I’m not going to sit here and claim Mike O’Shea, the 30th head coach in Bomber history, is the answer, because no one knows. He does, however, […]
